Akvariet – the Aquarium – is a conversion and extension to the buildings that housed Danmarks Akvarium previously and which has a unique placement. In the future, the building will be used for fitness and restaurant and an associated exhibition building with, e.g., art exhibitions, conferences, theatre and other cultural events, etc. There will be access for the public to both fitness, the restaurant and the exhibition building. 

It is planned to carry out renovation and conversion and extension which respect those existing buildings’ elements that are worthy of preservation and the structural value such that the future buildings will appear as a coherent building complex with due respect for the past.
