A welcoming neighborhood build for communities
With the project at Cirkelhusgrunden, NPV wishes to create a new neighborhood with diverse quality spaces, that are welcoming to both residents and visitors. A harmonious, modern neighborhood with homes, gardens, shops, institutions, cafes and more.
The surrounding nature is to be prolonged and welcomed into the centre of the project.
To ensure a harmonious and peaceful neighborhood, the traffic will be directed to go around the premises.
Both the neighborhood and buildings are to be certified by DGNB standards, and the project addresses social, environmental, and economic aspects of sustainability.
Furthermore, 6 of the 17 goals for Sustainable Development forwarded by the UN, are being incorporated into the project. The following are #3 Good health and well-being, #7 Affordable and clean energy, #11 Sustainable cities and communities, #13 Climate Action and #15 Life on land.
An introduction to the ’15-minutes city’
The phrase refers to an urban planning concept, which forwards the idea that users of the city should be able to reach most daily necessities and services within 15-minutes from the home. Studies show that this type of urban planning are beneficiary for the people living in the city, as it strengthens the sense of local community and affiliation.
